How much should I pay for an LA Fitness Membership?

From what I've read the price depends on how well you negotiate. I'm looking at a new club that just opened up in my area. Any tips for negotiating the best price? What's the best price that any of you have gotten? When I joined a few years ago, I paid $120 for the initiation fee and $39 a month. The following year, the company I worked for had LA Fitness come in and do a membership thing with the above terms. Though I was a member, I was able to reduce my monthly cost to $20.
