I think the stationary bicycle is more effective for losing weight, base on my experience though. I have been using it for more than a year already.



But maybe you should also consider if you are comfortable, some people would not prefer bicycle, you might lose interest in exercising if you don't like your tool.What is better for weight loss and fitness? The bicycle is good for you, but you don't not use your arms at all. On the elliptical almost every part of your body is getting work.

Either one can work well. I would go with the elliptical because many of them offer increased inclines and that sort of thing. Think long term. i would go with a bicycle. the elyptical will be good, but a bike will also help build up stamina and tone the muscls better too. hope it works out for you. x
a combo of bike/ellip and treadmill will work best for you.....

alternate speeds and inclines on each to max time....you will burn more cals this way...
