Has anyone been to Goodlife Fitness, especially in the Toronto area?

I'm considering switching from the YMCA to Goodlife. There is a really good deal that's offered until Sunday, but it would lock me in for a year. I'd love to hear any feedback about this gym, like the fitness classes, equipment and stuff.

Thanks!Has anyone been to Goodlife Fitness, especially in the Toronto area?I work at Extreme Fitness and I've gotta say, all gyms (aside from YMCA) piss me the hell off from a customer's viewpoint.

You walk into the YMCA and want to sign up, they do it no problem. You want to know the price, they tell you right away. GoodLife and Extreme have salespeople that will try to push things like tanning and personal training down your throat (by making you do a "mandatory fitness assessment" which they swear is for liability purposes but is actually so they can tell you that you are unfit or too pale and should work on that with assistance from them).

YMCA has no contracts, too. Their fees also stay pretty consistent. What seems like a good deal no (OMFG 60 days for $16) actually will bite you in the *** later on. BELIEVE ME. Also, I get calls about billing issues all the time, where people cancel and are still being billed. This rarely happens at the YMCA. The YMCA is a charity and thus a non-profit organization, so their heads are in the right place when it comes to their members.

As for equipment, classes, etc, they're about the same. I've been to both, and it seems like they're equal.

Overall, don't leave the YMCA. Those other gyms are shady. If I didn't work at Extreme, I'd have a membership there still.
