What are your thoughts on Dead Rising: Chop till you Drop?

Okay, there has been a lot of talk about this game, mainly about the graphics and the weapons. To me: in one of the earlier videos I have seen on youtube, the graphics weren't 'Crash Hot', but they defiantly not terrible, my main concern was weapons.

In the original 360 edition, guns were not a big factor of the games, anything else you could pick up was, however, in the video I first saw, the main weapons used by the guy ( I have no idea what his name is) were guns. And this is something I was worried about, because the whole point of dead rising was that you couldn't just shoot zombies forever, however, the guy only had a few shotgun shells (5 or 6).

In a later video released, the graphics looked a lot better, still not xbox 360 material, but quite good for the Wii. I was also convinced that this game will turn out a lot better as I saw the guy ride bikes and skateboards, along with using more 'Mall-ish' weapons such as shopping trolleys, bowling balls and a saw's razor, rather than just shooting zombies left, right and center.

However, all this when down the drain the Moment I saw for a brief second the guy's ammo for a shotgun being 999. Also with there being no cheats in the 360 version, this has blew my hopes of this being a close port.

Still, I probably will buy it, and either enjoy it a lot, or put it along with all my other crappy third party wii games.

What are your thoughts on the port of dead rising, using the Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition engine? What are your thoughts on Dead Rising: Chop till you Drop?
Because Chop Till You Drop runs on the Resident Evil 4 Wii engine, the controls feel similar -- differing mostly in the pacing, since Resident Evil is, in most cases, a slower shooter, while Dead Rising's a faster beat-em-up/shooter/choose-your-own-adven鈥?game. That means you hold down a button and point the Wii Remote to shoot, and you can choose between pressing the A button or flicking the Wii-mote for an up-close attack. Other motion sequences show up contextually: If an enemy stuns you, you can shake the Wii Remote to recover, and if you shake the Wii-mote while holding a baseball bat, you can charge it for a more powerful attack. I only tried out the shake-to-recover move, though (which worked fine), so it's hard to say how well these will work on the whole.

And while the weapon/enemy additions and control changes are significant, the biggest difference here looks to be the new mission structure and save system.

To be honest, most of my interest in getting the Wii version of Dead Rising comes from my like for the Xbox 360 game. I'm aware that it won't be as detailed graphically.

I watched a bunch of clips on IGN, and I also watched the trailer. My big fear is that I'll get pretty much the same game, identical, to the Xbox 360, just with fewer zombies and simpler graphics.

I'm hoping they mix it up some so it's not entirely identical. Otherwise, why wouldn't I play the 360 version. I'm definitely willing to give it a shot... it's just mostly out of my love for the old game.

As for the engine, it runs it smoothly enough from what I see. I do note that there might be a little less reaction time in the Wii version... I view that as an added challenge that makes up for fewer zombies.

But you know the things like the ammo being 999, or timers on the screen... those may just be things for demos. I can't imagine unlimited ammo, and I think those timers are just to give the player an idea of when the playing time for the demo is up.

Time will tell... a little over a month to go!
