Do you think gym classes should stress individual fitness over team sports?

I remember when I was a kid being the unpopular kid that nobody ever wanted on their team, and I've known many people that have been turned off exercise entirely by school gym classes. I eventually came to enjoy exercise after I spent a summer working a very physically demanding job, but alot of people don't. Team sports seem to favour the naturally athletic and popular kids. Would it promote lifelong fitness more if things like aerobics and weight training were emphasized over team sports?Do you think gym classes should stress individual fitness over team sports?yes they should. But god almighty- I don't think they will ever give up team sports. So the most you can hope for is that they have both.Do you think gym classes should stress individual fitness over team sports? You can't teach individually in big class settings.

Parents should stress the importance of individual exercise and activity.

Team sports with the right coach teach the value of teamwork and tolerance.

Most people are not natural athletes, this is a misconception.

The best athletes practice spend an extraordinary amount of time practicing or start at a very early age.

That practice makes it look natural.

Sadly most at school age children don't care about fitness, it is the parents job to stress that.
