I have a big problem and I do not know what to do so hopefully someone can help. Friday night I was playing Resident Evil 5 and I was having a problem with something, so I decided that I would cheat and look up how to do the level by searching ign.com for the walk though. Any way sometimes you encounter pop-ups from sites like those so it was not so unusual but its not big deal to me, until that night.
One of these pop-ups happened to be this thing called Personal Guard 2009. It was one of those bullshit ads that says "your computer is at risk and needs to be scanned, click to continue" or something to that nature, I am sure you might know what I mean. Well I was like yeah F-that and just closed the ad and then carried on with my business playing Resident Evil. Later on that night I had enough playing so I went back to the computer and minimized Firefox and I notice there is something new on my desktop, a new icon and its a new program, I was like what, what is that, its Personal Guard 2009. I was thinking alright this is ****** up, how the hell did this happen? I did not click on install or anything because I knew better because I knew it was not something I would put on here and because it was on that dumb *** pop up. I googled it and it says its some bogus shuff so I need to take it off. Before I go and take it off I look around to see if it in my start menu and its in there, I go to my control panel and look at my security settings and my virus protection is turned off so I enabled again. [this thing turned it off] After that I go into the Add/Remove programs and look around for it and find it, remove it and I think I am all good so then I went to bed.
This is where it gets interesting.. Every morning at 8am I have a scheduled virus scan, Friday morning I did not have any new virus or any virus in quarantine which makes me happy, Saturday morning I wake up to the results of the scan and it says I have 168 virus's..yes 168 that were successfully put into quarantine. I was like WHAT[followed by five minutes of bitching and yelling] so I look around to see if I miss anything and I notice that this Personal Guard 2009 is running, I noticed that because I clicked on that little arrow thing next to the clock on the bottom of the screen and it opened up and showed it was running. [I think it knows I am talking about it because it just popped up right now]. Anyway I went back to the control panel to Add/Remove programs to see If I can remove it again, ITS NOT IN THERE.. the program is obviously still here some where, it still shows in my start menu via all programs. I have no idea what to do. I went to my Program File folder and was looking at the folders I had in there and Personal Guard 2009 was in it. I opened it and had an "installs.exe" so I said well why not try clicking on it, well my computer had a seizure pretty much so I had to turn it off. Its ok at the moment besides all of that.
Some info about these virus's. In my auto-protect results say that the results are "Suspicious.Vundo", file name "niwalezu.dll", risk type "Heuristics". I have no Idea what any of that means. I woke up to 195 of those from my scan that were put into quarantine this morning. The result box tells me to restart my computer and when I do a command box comes up saying cannot open file "$$t.bat" and nothing happens at all so i had to manually restart for that not to appear.
I have Symantec virus program, its a good one because I got it from my uncle because he works at a university and it is the one that they use and I get the updates regularly.
If anyone has any advise for me on what to do I would really appreciate that in helping me get this program off of my computer that I can not remove through the Add/Remove. Please people help me, I need this program off of my computer, i dont need any more virus's than the 300 I acquired in the past two days, and stop with these popups.

I have the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate that crap!!!!!!!!!!
It was pretty funny to read your situation. But I can not take this virus off.
ok... well now that we all know your computer is infected with a virus, its pretty simple to get rid of a lot of these things... first you need to get into safemode with networking. Basically, safemode only makes the most essential files run, so most of the time the viruses dont run (some still do)
Once you are there, you need to install some good antivirus programs, definetely not Symantec (from my experience at geek squad its one of the worst).
now time to download some antivirus programs...

http://www.superantispyware.com/
download the trial version of counterspy and make sure you run that the last after you run both spybot and superantispyware
and remember to always run only 1 at a time, as sometimes they might freeze you computer. This should get rid of all of your viruses
AND MAKE SURE ALL THE SCANS ARE RUN IN SAFEMODE(unless the computer says its not possible, then run it in regular mode)Personal Guard 2009 WTF?!?! NEED SERIOUS HELP!!?

Use manual removal guide only in SAFE MODE.
I clicked on Kaspersky as Alexis suggeted but, the list of viruses to remove didn't include personal guard 2009. I have Adawre on my computer and it seems that Adaware's software guys haven't found a solution to this either.
Has anyone tried malewarebytes?
All those are viruses, you're computer is in trouble. Personal Guard 2009 is a fake antivirus that makes you pay to remove the viruses it says you have. It's not true, the only virus you have is Personal Guard 2009. You can't remove it with Add/Remove Programs because it isnt a real Program.
I reccomend Malware Bytes

It helped me remove lots
